Unwind

Sometimes in life we feel that we are too much entangled, in our work, studies, relationships, family responsibilities, and what not. We feel like going somewhere and scream our lungs out and say, “leave me alone”; but most of the time we don’t have that guts to do so. It is also true that when a person is in lot of problems few like to cry it out, other few like being quite and remaining few prefers to pen down things. I feel that every person has the potential to write. But the writer within everyone comes out when he/she is in pain. That person automatically gets the caliber of writing something very impactful.
But I met someone recently who proved me wrong completely. I was travelling in Mumbai local train one evening. I was basically going back home from work. It was late at night around 10 o’clock, the ladies compartment usually gets almost empty by this hour and a police man is standing in there, to assure us that we are safe. I started thinking, that yes, Mumbai has its caring side too, it not only holds the famous title of being a dream city but also it covers every citizen in its warm blanket and whispers, “I too care”. Mumbai has its own way of telling this. It is never implied, it is always felt. Mean while after few stations a young lady in her late twenties came. She sat next to me; we shared an awkward smile that time. But I was curious to observe her more; the body language said something different I felt.
To describe her I can say that she was having slim body, which I wish to have. Anyways she was wearing a decent top and jeans, her face carried minimum makeup. That make up must have been washed off during the course of day. While I was deep in thoughts observing her she happened to look at me, her eyes were staring differently at me. The stare was not to scare me or to say look away. It said something which I failed to understand. I got puzzled and mean while she looked away. I decided to observe her further, from the corner of my eyes I started looking at her. She started digging something in her bag, finally she got it and she removed her headphones. She must have thought to hear some songs and feel light.
The problem here was her headphone wire was enmeshed. She tried to unwind it but she just couldn't do it, that made her irritate more and she started crying silently. Almost in rage of anger she threw away her wire in the bag. This time when she looked at me, I understood she needed help. I asked her promptly, ‘is everything okay?’ the very next minute I regretted asking that question. She started crying. I couldn't handle her, I honestly got scared. I felt like I stole something from someone and I got caught. I was terrified, because I didn't know what to do how to calm her, how to make her smile or do anything at that time. Should I get her a chocolate oh dam I am in train. When I was juggling with these weird thoughts she was shedding tears, she was getting all red like tomato. I gathered my courage and asked her again, ‘what’s the matter?’. She looked at me with her teary eyes and just said one word, ’abortion’. I got goose bumps and was shaken up completely with this.
I couldn't even tell her that ‘I know how it feels’ because I really didn't know how it felt to be in her shoes. She held her stomach and cried like a baby in front of me. The police man in our compartment saw us and got puzzled. He tried approaching us, but I signalled him not to. I put one arm around her; I slowly dared to tell her, ‘everything will be fine’. After that what she said taught me something which I will remember always. She said,” it’s not that easy...” I nodded she went on, “everything is very confusing, everything is tangled in one another my parents doesn't know anything about this. My mother trusted me and I crushed her trust to this end. Trust a very big word and got crushed in seconds. I took them for granted.” I made a checklist in my head saying, ‘not to take you loved ones for granted...’ I got curious this time and asked her, “what about that man?” I could see the annoyance in her eyes. She said, “He left me...” the moment she said that to me suddenly I could feel the pain in me. I don’t know what happened to me but I hugged her tight. I know how it feels when you lose someone so dear to you. Mean while my station came and I came in one of a dilemma. I wanted to listen to her further and be there for her too but also had to get down because it was getting too late. The very next moment the dilemma was solved because she was also getting down at the same station. I decided to drop her home and then return to my place.
When we got down she pulled out her headphones wire again. I took that and the wires were really tangled badly in one another. I tried and unwound the wire quickly and gave her back. I told her one thing, “I know it is very easy for me to say, but it’s gone let it go... unwinding the wire is easy only if you focus on the right end to take out, so that the is wire straight. Don’t let yourself so lose or else you will get tangled in it more.” She was amazed listening to me. This time she hugged me tight and said, “thank you”.  May be she understood what she has to do now so that she can get herself out from those situations.
While I was returning home, I felt nice to help someone. But I didn't know should I smile or should I feel bad for her. While talking to myself, I felt that life is too complicated. It is like a yarn in your hand and It is given to you with a choice to unwind it or tangle it further. The only way to handle life is to accept it. Acceptance plays a major role to unwind our life. Remember as a kid we knew it was difficult to walk? Still we accepted the challenge and completed the task soon. We should give ourselves some time to accept it and go further, with this life will be beautiful again!

Love

Like every writer, I want to ask you all too.. What comes in your mind when you read, or hear the word ‘love’? I am sure, that one person does come in your mind that has the potential to make you blush just by thinking of him/her. Yes, boys do blush but in their stupid funny way, which every girl longs to see. When generalised, I came across many types of love, like we love our family, our friends, our job, our cute little sibling, etc. Love is anything where we want to do something to make the other person happy. But there is one type of love that is experienced by every one of us, at some point in life, which is different from all these type of love. For some people, that happen many times, that is sheer waste of time according to me. If you ask me, I am also a normal person like you all. I am too blushing while writing this and thinking about my boyfriend and our relationship that has grown over a period of 3 and half years now. No, am not trying to boost anything in front of you all. Just want you all to know that I am too a usual person, I too have a heart that loves just one person.
Anyway, it’s our human nature that whenever we hear or read ‘love’, we involuntarily land on our wonderland where it’s just you and that someone special. That person has completely changed you, not because he intended to, it is because you wanted to change for that one person who filled your heart with loads of happiness just by being at your side. I find that state to be the most sacred state, as here you feel the love and happiness by just holding his hand.
When I started dating my boyfriend, I still remember the feeling and still feel it whenever I see him. It is that time when I just loved the colour red. It’s really amazing how I became a red colour detector machine, and smiled seamlessly, even by seeing the red headlight or taillight of a car. I don’t know what happens to me when he is with me. When he is telling all his office stories I feel like just listening to it. His voice is a sheer melody to my ears. For me love is not thinking what have I gained in this relationship, for me it is to feel like conquering the whole world by loosing every ounce of me to him.
While he is going on with his stories, I love taming his hair, pulling his cheeks, or playing with his hand. Sometimes I really lose track of what he is telling me, because I am so busy in love with him. I love to just remember his small- small habits of smiling when he tickles me, that faint happy expression when he is trying to explain me something naughty, pulling me close and hold me like that for some time, or when I get a lollypop for him. I just love that whisper in my ear saying “you are mine” this just makes me melt every time, hey that rhymes. Now, when it comes to my stories, I see him smiling at me widely like I am a kinder-garden student trying to explain how I tied my shoes today.
I am proud of him because the way he handles me, no one can. I am sometimes a reckless brat who just fails to understand simple things (not my fault, creative people are like that). I just know that I love him, and I can bet my life on this that he won’t find a person like me who loves him, accepts him, supports him, seamlessly like I do, something that I am proud of myself.
Well, as we are talking about relationships then I would like to make a statement that – as much as love is necessary for the relationship, fights are also equally important. If you will eat only sweet dish every day I am sure you will die with diabetes, spicy food is also necessary that’s it. It’s just upon us how to handle that spice. Do you complain that this spicy food is just bad? Or you enjoy the food and then drink a soda to avoid acidity later. In relationships fights are like spicy food, you can keep complaining or you can enjoy the after effect of making each other smile. The step where you are making each other smile is where you are forgetting completely that, you even fought at first place. This can happen 2 min after fight, or an hour later it is necessary to happen that day itself or else that small topic can become too serious. Which is unhealthy for your relationship? Oh yeah it is. I don’t want to sound preachy, I am actually saying it because it is necessary to respect and take care of that ‘love’ for which you have fallen for.
That step where you trying to make him/her smile, it is where you know that his/her smile is of utmost importance to you, and you go lengths to get that curve on his/her face. I play the mirror game with him and he just have to surrender.  It’s healthy for any relationship to forget the mistakes and move on, those fights are not to decide anything, those fights are actually to forget and just keep those sweet memories in your mind that you have shared with each other.
While reading you must be thinking that I read too many romantic novels, and you must be thinking that bookish love is not possible in the real world. But I would say this kind of love is possible. Just to spend 2 min walk with him I went for 45 min walks in the morning so that after his tuitions I can spend those 2 mins with him. That’s me! Not  trying to say that my love is an ideal love. But sometimes things do happen in ideal way. You want it or you don’t want it, they just happen. The only rule in love is, never ask for anything, just do it for your partner. She/he may take time to understand, but they will get it because....She/he is equally madly in love with you!

Happy loving J
